Lazy Oatmeal in a Jar

Lazy oatmeal in a jar

You can prepare a breakfast of oatmeal with kefir in the evening, without cooking! Let me explain how. It is suitable for those who forget to have a proper breakfast in their busy schedule (a sandwich on the go and a few sips of coffee is not the healthiest diet, right?). Say "stop" to this routine, learn to eat properly, and start with preparing lazy oatmeal in a jar in the evening for breakfast.

Lazy oatmeal in a jar is made with regular oats (not instant oats), soaked in kefir, yogurt, milk, or buttermilk (you can also add cottage cheese or sweet curd mixture). Why is this oatmeal breakfast with kefir good: (1) we don't waste time cooking, (2) we add healthy ingredients, (3) we choose any toppings, like in a restaurant! You can add anything to the oatmeal in the jar: nuts, dried fruits, poppy seeds, berries, and fruits. Do you like chocolate? No problem! Add a little cocoa and enjoy chocolate oatmeal that is similar to mousse. Bran (wheat or oat), flaxseeds or chia seeds will enrich the already valuable properties of oat flakes. Don't forget about classic combinations: apple and cinnamon, cherry and chocolate crumbs, raspberry and vanilla, banana and nuts. All you need is a jar with a wide neck and a capacity of at least 400 ml, oat flakes, and kefir (or other dairy component). The rest of the additions are a matter of taste. I will show you my version of making lazy oatmeal in a jar. Let's start preparing it in the evening for breakfast. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons of oat flakes on the bottom.

In the morning, you will have a ready breakfast of oatmeal with kefir. It takes minimum time to prepare and provides maximum benefit! It doesn't have to be eaten cold. You can heat it in the microwave at a low power until room temperature or make it warmer. Optionally, you can stir it again to evenly distribute the banana and nut pieces in the jar. As you can see, I didn't add sugar because the oatmeal is already sweet due to the presence of bananas. Store it in the refrigerator for up to two days. It can be frozen for up to a month (just make sure the jar isn't filled to the brim, leave room for expansion during freezing). Now you know exactly how to save time on breakfast instead of boring oatmeal. And not just breakfast! It's also a great snack. Take the jar of oatmeal with kefir to work or workout for an energizing boost!
