- Pumpkin350 g
- Raisins50 g
- Butter25 g
- Salt0.5 teaspoon
- Sugar2 tablespoon
Directions
To prepare pumpkin and millet porridge with water, you will need water, millet, pumpkin, raisins, butter, salt, and sugar.
If possible, it is better to use sweet varieties of pumpkin for cooking. Then the porridge itself will have a more intense flavor, and you will need to add very little sugar in the end. Wash the pumpkin well to remove any dirt, dry it with a paper towel. Remove the skin and seeds. Cut the pumpkin flesh into small slices.
Pour the necessary amount of water into a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Add the pumpkin cubes to the boiling water. Cover with a lid and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce the heat and cook for 15-20 minutes, until the pumpkin slices become tender.
While the pumpkin reaches the desired consistency, place the millet in a deep bowl and rinse it thoroughly several times. Rinse the cereal until the water becomes clear.
Add the rinsed millet to the softened pumpkin pieces. Stir and bring to a boil. Once the first bubbles appear, reduce the heat and cook until the millet grains are tender. Stir occasionally to prevent the porridge from burning.
When the millet is well cooked, add raisins, salt, sugar, and butter to it. You can also add any other dried fruits according to your taste.
Stir well. Simmer for about five minutes and then turn off the heat. Let it sit for a while and serve. Pumpkin and millet porridge is ready to be served.
Enjoy your meal!
