I recently came up with this magical drink, purely by accident, as it usually happens, and named it "ginberry". I was making cranberry juice, planning to drink it hot, as it was freezing outside. To enhance the warming effect, I added fresh ginger, and for a more spicy flavor, a few sprigs of thyme. And when I tried it, it hit me - it needs gin, that's what it needs!

Gin is a quite strong drink, 47 degrees, and it's quite heavy to drink it neat. But its robust, juniper taste goes incredibly well with berries, probably because of their shared forest origin. Raspberry infused gin is superb, but it's sweeter, while tart cranberries and bitter ginger are just what the doctor prescribed, simply perfect. Moreover, this drink can be enjoyed hot, warm, or cold, it's versatile. The amount of alcohol can be adjusted to your taste and preference, but don't overdo it, these deceptively delicious and sweet cocktails hit hard. However, for festive gatherings with guests, it's the best choice, there's nothing better. And for children, make a non-alcoholic version and everyone will be satisfied. I coined the name from the main ingredients, gin and cranberry. Let's start making our drink. Put the cranberries, fresh or thawed, in a blender with sugar and blend them.
Boil two liters of water and pour cranberries into it, leaving 100 milliliters of boiling water. Stir vigorously and leave for 10 minutes. Strain through a sieve into a pitcher or another suitable dish, add fresh or dried thyme sprigs and let it steep.
Now the ginger. Peel and grate a fresh ginger root measuring 3-4 centimeters. Squeeze the ginger juice into the cranberry drink through a sieve or cheesecloth. Pour the remaining boiled water over the ginger pulp and strain into the beverage.
Everything is ready, you can add gin to taste and start celebrating! The drink can also be made in advance, in any quantities, and stored in the refrigerator.
