Grape Jam
Every year, during the season of fresh fruits, I try to prepare as many delicious treats as possible. At the moment, I want to tell and show you how I make grape jam. I believe my tutorial will be useful to you. The end result should be whole grape berries. To achieve this, the jam needs to be boiled for a short time, in a few steps, with long breaks for cooling.
Information
Ingredients
- Grapes1 kg
- Sugar900 g
- Water250 ml
- Citric acid3 pinch
- Vanilla sugar1 teaspoon
Directions
Take the following ingredients for grape jam: grapes, sugar, water, vanilla sugar, citric acid.
Let's start by preparing the grapes. Remove the berries from the bunch carefully, making sure not to damage them. Thoroughly rinse and remove any bad fruits.
Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Place the grapes in the boiling water for 40-50 seconds. Quickly cool them down in cold water. This process will create small pores in the grape berries, allowing them to absorb the sugar syrup.
Strain the grapes and let them dry for some time.
Now let's prepare the sugar syrup. Pour sugar into a suitable pot, add water, and place it on the heat. Stir occasionally to dissolve the sugar. Bring the syrup to a boil and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Add the grape berries to the prepared sugar syrup, and mix well. Leave it for 5-6 hours.
After 5-6 hours, put it on the stove. Bring to a boil. Boil for 10 minutes after boiling. Afterward, let it sit for 7-8 hours. Repeat the cooking procedure two more times with the same cooling break. On the third time, add vanilla sugar and citric acid. Boil for the same amount of time.
Pour into sterilized, dry jars and seal well. Leave the grape jam upside down until it cools completely, then transfer it to the pantry for storage.
