Oatmeal with Milk, Raisins, and Apples in a Multicooker

Oatmeal with milk in a slow cooker with raisins and apples

Oatmeal with milk for breakfast is a classic since the times of the Soviet Union. But back then, it required skill and time to make it taste good. However, everything changed with the era of multicookers! If the creator of such an indispensable kitchen device like a multicooker has not yet been honored with a monument, this injustice needs to be urgently rectified. The perfect oatmeal for breakfast is what I achieve in a multicooker. On the agenda is the classic oatmeal with milk, but with a slight twist of apples, raisins, and fragrant spices.

I believe no one would deny the obvious benefits of oatmeal. It provides our body with the necessary vitamins (especially group B), minerals, and complex carbohydrates that prevent the sugar level from sharply jumping up and down. Oatmeal is a great breakfast for those who like to treat themselves to something delicious in the morning. Cooked with milk, oatmeal has a delicate creamy taste that will not leave both young and adult eaters indifferent. Moreover, it increases the calcium content in the porridge. And if you are a proponent of healthy eating, just cook the porridge with water, it will be equally delicious. To achieve that creamy taste, simply add a splash of milk at the end of cooking. This little trick will help you love oatmeal and won't harm your waistline. Many complain that milk porridges often escape even from a multicooker - to prevent this from happening, simply draw a circle around the multicooker bowl with a small piece of butter. So let's get to the preparation of oatmeal. Mix oat flakes and salt right in the multicooker bowl. I never add sugar to the porridge, sweetening it with honey, dried fruits, berries, or fruit slices. But if you prefer your porridge sweet, add sugar to taste at this stage.

Pour the milk and mix. The ratio of milk to oatmeal depends on whether you want a thick or more liquid porridge. The ideal ratio, in my opinion, is one volume of oatmeal to three volumes of liquid. If you want a more liquid porridge, take four volumes of liquid. Close the multicooker lid and press the Porridge or Milk Porridge mode. Cook for 10 minutes or according to the set mode. All done, you can have breakfast! The classic oatmeal porridge with milk is ready. But I suggest enriching its taste a little.

Heat the butter in a frying pan, add the apple chunks and raisins. Sprinkle with sugar and spices. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes or until the apples are soft. Arrange the porridge on plates and top with the apples and raisins. If you don't have time to cook the apples and raisins in a frying pan, simply add them together with sugar, spices, and butter to the multicooker bowl when you pour the milk. The result will not disappoint you!
