The nectarines should be ripe but not overly soft. Wash the skins of all the fruits that will be added to the wine thoroughly with a brush. For a light nectarine sangria, you don't need to use very expensive wine - it will simply get lost in the flavors. A young (and relatively inexpensive) wine is perfect. I have chosen a dry Italian rosé as my wine. You can also use a semi-dry one. If you prefer sweet wine, then do not add sugar, only mineral water. However, adjust according to your taste. By the way, sometimes I replace mineral water with Sprite. Instead of lemon, you can use lime.

Squeeze the juice out of one and a half oranges and half a lemon. Remove the pits from the nectarines and cut them into slices. Also cut the second half of the lemon into slices. Place the fruits in a deep dish and pour the juice into it. I used a large bowl, but you can also use a pitcher if it fits in your refrigerator.

Do the same with the remaining half of the orange - cut it into slices. Remove the stems from the washed strawberries and cut each berry in half. Place the berries and orange slices with the nectarines and lemon. Sprinkle with sugar.

Next, pour in the wine, cover the dish with plastic wrap, and refrigerate. The wine should absorb the taste and aroma of the fruits. If I have guests coming for lunch or dinner, I always make sangria in the morning and take it out when the guests arrive. The drink should be in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.

Before serving, dilute the sangria with Sprite or mineral water, stir, taste, adjust the flavor (you may need to add more sugar), add ice, and serve. You can add more water or Sprite according to your preference. And if you want to enhance the alcohol content of the sangria (in case you have such a desire), you can add a couple of shots of brandy instead of adding more mineral water. It turns out wonderfully, trust me! By the way, the wine can be either white or red - I like it with any. Serve the light sangria with nectarines, garnished with mint leaves. Enjoy your sangria!
