How to make delicious macaroni with cheese sauce in a multicooker
I present to you a recipe for a classic American dish - macaroni with cheese sauce or "Mac and cheese". The name of this dish may mislead many people - but no, it's not just macaroni with grated cheese - from a simple set of ingredients, we will get an amazingly creamy, rich, cheesy sauce.
Information
Ingredients
- Pasta400 g
- Butter60 g
- Salton taste
- Black pepperon taste
- Nutmeg0.25 teaspoon
- Milk Condensed400 ml
- Milk150 ml
- Cream100 ml
- Semi-hard cheese400 g
Directions
To prepare this dish, cook the pasta almost the same way as usual. That is, put a pot of water on the stove, bring it to a boil, and add a little salt. Then put the pasta in boiling water, stir, and cook until almost done. The cooking time of the pasta until al dente is probably indicated on the package. Follow this time, you can even cook for a minute or two less, as the pasta will be further baked with the sauce in the multicooker, and if overcooked, they will start to fall apart and lose their shape. Drain the water after cooking and do not rinse the pasta.
While the pasta is cooking, let's work on the butter and cheese. Cut the butter into small cubes or simply small pieces for pasta with cheese sauce.
Grate all the prepared cheese on a large grater (you can use a food processor). Note that we will not need all the grated cheese at once, part of it should be set aside to sprinkle the almost finished dish at the end of cooking. A small handful - 50-60 grams of cheese will be enough.
Transfer the hot cooked pasta immediately into the multicooker bowl and add the sliced butter to them. Stir right away while the pasta is hot, so that the butter melts and is evenly distributed.
Next, add all the remaining ingredients to the multi-cooker bowl: almost all the cheese (we have previously set aside part for sprinkling), condensed and regular milk, cream.
Next, season everything with salt and pepper, add nutmeg (if using) and carefully mix. Set the multi-cooker to stew for one and a half to two hours (after an hour and a half, check how much liquid is left in the sauce, if the sauce has not thickened yet, leave it for another 15 minutes). When the sauce is almost thickened, sprinkle the macaroni with the remaining grated cheese. If necessary, you can leave the macaroni in the Keep Warm mode.
